Description: This piece was built from the darkest blues and greys to establish depth and shadow, then layered with luminous greens to capture the sunlight filtering through the belly of the wave. The foam and spray were rendered with expressive, rapid mark-making — including flicked and crumbled pastel — to evoke the raw energy of breaking water. The result is a dynamic study in movement, light, and form.
